"There's a full moon over Tulsa..."

Backyard Playtime with the Plumber

We were sitting on the backporch while Zach wrote with his chalk and explored the other evening. His pants kept sagging and I couldn't help myself, I thought it was hillarious. Eric says it wasn't that funny. Whatever, you can judge for yourself. =)

Cont. encouragement( I can't get these in order so go read the one below first.) =)

Apparently, my long windedness is too much for one post, so I'm continueing on another. Anyway, God delights in our desire to be godly parents and even though we stumble he is walking with us and helping us along the way! Go with me one step further and think about how if our child goes in a direction, say towards the street, that we don't want them to take, we will hold their arm and direct them to the safe place we want them to go. God will do the same for us. But we need to listen to God's direction and obey, we can't be like our toddlers and spiritually throw ourselves on the ground kicking and screaming. ha! Actually we can but then we will be getting some discipline ourselves. =) Which truthfully isn't, that bad , bc we know that God truely loves us as his children.(Heb. 12:5-6) ok, that's a whole other lesson, ha! I just want to encourage you guys as well as myself that if we keep walking in obedience to the Lord he will take care of our children and us! He will show us what to do when we seek his guidance. He is a good God and a loving parent the best example we have! love you all!Mich

Encouragement!

I recieved a special word of encouragement today about parenting while I was listening to Beth Moore during my QT. She was talking about how the Lord uses everything about us, esp. our brains and that he honors organization and planning. I am a planner so I like this, obviously you have to keep in mind that we must give our plans to God to alter as he sees fit but he does want us to research, think, and plan. As this relates to the way I parent, I was thinking about how he wants us to parent "on purpose". He wants us in his Word and listening to godly parenting advice so that we can make a plan for the way we will raise our kids. Anyway, even with all the planning we are still blindsided by the daily challenges we never thought about. I worry so often that I will fail, that my children will turn out poorly. But the Lord has given us the promise that if we raise up a child in the way he should go, when he is old he won't depart from it. (Prov. 22:6). Furthermore (finally to the cool word I got today) God delights in us when we obey him and seek to parent our children the way he wants us to. Psalm 37:23-24 says "If the Lord delights in a man's way he makes his steps firm;though he stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand." God showed me a great analogy for this. As many of you have been there recently, remember what its like when your child is just learning to walk. How you walk beside them holding onto their arm or hand to balance them if they start to fall? I have been doing this often with Zach lately. God says he is doing just that with us! When we are going somewhere he wants us to go, he is right there, our loving Daddy, keeping us from falling and smacking our head on the pavement! ha!

When's it going to flash?

Photo Sharing - Upload Video - Video Sharing - Share Photos
Zach cracks me up! He keeps blinking at the beginning of this video bc he thinks the flash is going to go off in his face. Isn't it so fun to say no constantly?!And realize that he didn't really obey that well even though you thought he did in the moment. ha! Of course can't take a picture without Charlie getting in the way. Don't you love that it was warm enough last night to run around without a shirt on in February!

Busy busy busy

Although my husband says this is a boring video, I am posting it anyway. Zach was so intently throwing every toy he could find behind this chair that I had to capture it. =)

A Zachie Sandwich

Sadly, this is the only picture we got of Gigi and Zach while the Clarks were visiting. We had such a fun time together this past weekend, dispite our on going colds. =)

Madeline and Zach

Zach's friend Madeline and Jen came over to play while I went to the doctor on Tuesday. Don't they look like they could be siblings?
